Who Will You See?

At Mothering Minds, fit matters. Our team is made up of qualified psychotherapists who specialise in all things parenthood. Every therapist on our platform is hand-vetted, registered with a professional body, and a parent. Our couples counsellors have additional experience supporting couples through common relationship challenges in new parenthood.
We use the information you provide when you book your assessment to match you with a therapist whose expertise and schedule align with your needs - so by the time you arrive at your first session, the groundwork for a good therapeutic relationship is already in place.
And if the fit isn't right, you can easily request a rematch at any point.

FAQs
Sessions don’t just focus on what you’re arguing about, but the patterns, attachment needs, and unspoken dynamics underneath.
Over time, most couples find that sessions shift from managing conflict to rebuilding communication, trust, and a shared sense of where you’re going as a family.
That’s one of the most common situations we work with. You don’t both need to be convinced before you come — scepticism is welcome, and your therapist is trained to work with it. If your partner is hesitant, the clinical assessment can provide a useful space to ask questions before committing to ongoing therapy.
Yes. Couples therapy addresses what’s happening between you; individual therapy gives one or both partners space for something they’re carrying personally — PND, birth trauma, anxiety. Where both are relevant, we use separate therapists for each so neither space bleeds into the other. Your assessment therapist can advise.
You will hear from your therapist within 48 hours of your booking and assessment slots are typically available within 5–7 days of booking.
It varies. Some couples work together for six to eight sessions on a specific issue; others work for six months or more. The assessment gives your therapist a clearer sense of what’s realistic for your situation – but the choice is always yours.
